Barbara is a fine Cardiff based ceramic artist but will be relocating to Poitiers.
The style and colouring are her trademarks while the bird theme is more recent.
We have her contact details, just ask.
Barbara’s inspirations are from hills, coastal paths, changing seasons, weathered stones and layers of peeling paint, pebbles and skylines and other natural forms like these latest ones of birds.
The pots are built up by adding coils of clay to small thumb pots. Slices of white clay stained with various oxides and stains is incorporated into the form before the pot is painted inside and out with layers of oxides and coloured slips. Repeated burnishing, slow drying out then slow firing is followed by waxing to give a soft polished surface.
